An example of misinformation in the media

fuckyeahsexeducation:

True Blood. In season 2 we’re introduced to a new vampire Jessica. She was made when she was still a teenager and a virgin. She then goes into a sexual relationship. The misinformation is that they show her hymen breaking and because vampires heal her hymen grows back every time after sex. Of course, I’ve stated multiple times that the hymen doesn’t break and it’s just folds of tissue surrounding the vagina and that even if she was a virgin at the time she became a vampire this shouldn’t be an issue. Of course if we really want to get technical, how could a vampire create vaginal fluids to lubricate sex? I suppose her vagina could lengthen since that probably has to do with blood flow but for a female vampire to have sex she’d probably need a bunch of lube.

I over think things don’t I?

Anyway, the main point is misinformation like this happens A LOT in media, so don’t trust what you see in tv shows, movies, books or any other entertainment medium.

This show sounds so odd and problematic.. and why is someone’s hymen part of the story-line anyway? Oh yeah probably because the idea of an ever-lasting virgin is the ultimate patriarchal sexual fantasy.
